Carey-Bertram Loaned to Worcester
05 December 2009 09:31:00

Blue Square South club Worcester City have signed striker Danny Carey-Bertram on a month's loan from Blue Square North side AFC Telford United.

Carey-Bertram, 25, started his career at Hereford United and also played for Cambridge United.
Bath City signed him from Forest Green Rovers in August 2008. He moved to Telford two months later.

Despite being last season's leading scorer for the Bucks and in June turning down a move by Bath City manager Adie Britton to take him back to Twerton Park, he has found himself down the pecking order this season and has just the one goal to his credit, scored against Pegasus Juniors in a 4-1 FA Cup victory.

Carey-Bertram (pictured) was an unused substitute for the Bucks when City drew 0-0 in an F.A. Cup Third Qualifying Round tie at the New Buck's Head in October and then played all but the last minute in the replay which City lost 1-0.

Bucks manager Rob Smith hopes that the loan move can help DCB regain his goalscoring form as does Richard Dryden whose City side have often created ample chances in games but without enough goals to show for it.

Carey-Bertram will be in the squad for City's game on Saturday at Welling United, but he will not be eligible to play against Grays Athletic in the FA Trophy, having already played in the competition for Telford against Stalybridge Celtic.

Meanwhile, Worcester have been drawn at home to Kidderminster Harriers in the semi-final of the Worcestershire Senior Cup.

Harriers beat Bromsgrove Rovers 3-1 away in the quarter final and are currently in ninth place in Blue Square Premier.

The game is scheduled to be played at St George's Lane on or before Wednesday, 10th February 2010.

In the other semi final, Halesowen Town have been drawn at home to Zamaretto League Premier Division rivals Stourbridge.
