Blue Square North Duo Must Try Again
02 December 2009 09:20:00

Blue Square North rivals Workington and Solihull Moors will have to play each other again, before it is know who will host Nuneaton Town in the First Round.

The Reds and the Moors made the best of terrible weather conditions to battle out a 1-1 Tuesday night draw in this rearranged game.

Moors went ahead, slightly against the run of play, when Greg Mills took advantage of the swirling wind to score direct from a 25th minute corner, even though keeper Tony Caig got a hand to the ball.

But the visitors’ joy was short-lived as Workington went straight back down the other end and equalised within a minute, as Anthony Wright played in Gareth Arnison to shoot past Danny Crane.

Jake Edwards went close for Moors shortly before half time as the 188-strong crowd braved themselves for a freezing second period.

They were warmed a touch when Arnison went very close to adding his second goal in the 58th minute and a Kyle May header hit the Solihull bar with 10 minutes to go. But there were to be no more goals as the sides played out an honourable draw.
