Two for Thurrock
03 October 2009 10:38:00

Blue Square South club Thurrock have made two new additions to their squad ahead of Saturday`s game at Basingstoke Town.

Joining the Essex outfit is striker Matthew Judge and midfielder Reece Prestedge.

Judge was with Tottenham Hotpsur for five seasons before joining Luton Town.

He scored his only senior goal for Luton in a Football League Trophy game against Stevenage Borough.

In 2004, Judge was told that he would not be offered a professional deal and duly departed from Kenilworth Road in a season that had seen him earn his first cap for the Republic of Ireland under-19 side.

After an unsuccessful trial with Southend, he signed for Dagenham & Redbridge.

Unable to break into the first-team on a regular basis at Victoria Road, he was released and, after spells with Heybridge Swifts and Harlow Town, signed for Sligo Rovers during the summer of 2006.

During December 2008, he was released from Sligo before signing for Ebbsfleet United in January 2009.

He has been without a club since being released by Ebbsfleet.

Prestedge joins after a second spell with league rivals Bishop`s Stortford.

He first played for Stortford in 2004 but moved on to Dagenham & Redbridge before spending time with Brimsdown Rovers and Cheshunt.

A stylish midfield player who also top scored with Cheshunt at the time of his transfer to Stortford – he has been on dual registration terms with Thurrock`s Ryman League Premier Division neighbours AFC Hornchurch.
