Motors` Noon Called Up
14 September 2009 09:00:00

Carl Macauley, manager of Blue Square North club Vauxhall Motors, says striker Karl Noon deserves his international call up.

The 22-year-old has been handed a place in the contingency squad for the England `C` International Challenge Trophy match against Hungary in Budapest on Tuesday - Noon’s birthday.

Noon has caught the eye of national boss Paul Fairclough with a string of impressive performances this term which have seen a return of three goals.

Noon joins fellow Blue Square North strikers Paul Clayton and Liam Hearn, both of Alfreton Town, in the squad made up of mainly players from the Blue Square Premier.

Macauley said: “It is a great achievement for Karl and we want all the best for him and hope he gets a game. His call up just shows how hard he has worked, his movement is fantastic and he creates, as well as scores, goals – that is why he has been picked.”
