Fleetwood Town`s midweek signing Claus Jorgensen is looking forward to Saturday’s home Blue Square North clash against Corby Town after completing a 90 minute debut in Tuesday’s win at Farsley Celtic.
“It was a good win at Farsley. We got the two goals in the first half and saw through the second period. The football was a little different. You have a more time on the ball, may be more than I expected. The game was competitive and the lads gave their all and showed their commitment. That’s good.”
The midfielder, who left Blackpool during the summer after 100 appearances for the Coca-Cola Championship outfit, played a part in Town’s second goal on Tuesday and feels firepower is key to maintaining the club’s current run of form.
“Three clean sheets go with the three match unbeaten run and that’s something we want to continue. Maybe we could add a few more goals. We looked ok defensively at Farsley but putting another one in the net would have made the game safe. We must make the most of chances.”
The 33-year-old Dane, who played his international football for the Faroe Islands, is no stranger to Highbury and said Town manager Micky Mellon was an important factor in joining the Blue Square north outfit.
“I’ve been to Highbury before for pre-season friendlies and with Blackpool reserves. The pitch is new and it’s a good setup. I’m looking forward to cracking on and putting in a few more 90 minutes. It was good to receive the offer to come and play. Micky asked if I wanted to be part of his squad and I’m happy to do that.”
