Over Forty Apply for Rovers Post
08 September 2009 14:33:00

Forest Green Rovers can confirm that they received in excess of over forty applications for the vacancy for first-team manager at the Blue Square Premier club.

Club chairman Trevor Horsley wishes it to be known that whilst at this time he is in Dubai, pursuing his business interests to continue to input financial resources in to the club, he will be making a final decison in the next 24 hours as to a new appointment.

He has been in constant contact with the club who have been processing the candidates and a shortlist prepared by the Board.

The Board of Directors appreciate the varied concerns expressed by supporters, but it is only right that the new man at the helm will be chosen for the long-term aspirations of the club and not as a knee jerk reaction to the start of this season, which the Board fully understands was going to be difficult for a variety of reasons, let alone the issues around having to find a new manager.

It is hopeful that supporters will continue to show a positive response to the club under the current circumstances, starting with the next league fixture which is home to Hayes & Yeading at the New Lawn on Tuesday night.
