Edwards Re-Signs for Barrow
20 August 2010 09:37:00

Blue Square Bet Premier club Barrow have re-signed popular left-back Paul Edwards after he initially turned down a deal in the summer.

Edwards, 30, played a vital role in the run-in last season, helping secure a place at Wembley where he was outstanding against Stevenage Borough in the FA Trophy Final in May.

Formerly with Wrexham, Blackpool, Oldham and Port Vale, Edwards trialled at Scottish Premier side Inverness Caledonian Thistle this summer, but failed to land a deal and was on the verge of joining one of Barrow`s Blue Square Bet Premier rivals until joint bosses Dave Bayliss and Darren Sheridan stepped in.

Bayliss has been shown as true to his word when he said, after the opening two defeats, that "changes would be made" and Edwards goes straight into the squad for Saturday`s home game with Rushden & Diamonds.
