Influential midfielder Danny Frost has made the move up from the KoolSport Northern Counties East League with Winterton Rangers to the Blue Square Bet North after signing for Gainsborough Trinity.
Winterton chairman Dave Crowder said: "Danny is a real talent and a fun guy to be around and we wish him all the very best.
"It's always a mixed bag when you lose a player like this.
"On one hand, you're disappointed to see a talent like Danny leave but, on the other, delighted for the lad who is a genuine person who we wish only the best for."
Released by Barnsley as a junior, Frost has played under Winterton manager Richard Sennett for a few years and, although courted by a few teams last season, showed loyalty and a commitment to Sennett and Rangers. But, now he has been rewarded with a move to work with Brian Little at the Northolme.
Frost said: “I would like to thank everyone at Winterton for all they have done for me, thanks to the chairman and committee for all their hard work.
"And a special thanks to Richard, Mark Turner and Craig Mellor who have brought in a great set of lads that has been the best dressing room I've ever been involved in and I'm going to miss them."
