Blue Square Bet North club Eastwood Town have signed attacking midfielder Lee Stevenson from UniBond League Division One South side Belper Town and central defender Adrian Hawes from UniBond Premier neighbours Hucknall Town.
The Badgers' first two signings of the summer have agreed one-year deals at Coronation Park, with one-year options.
Manager Paul Cox has been after Stevenson for a while now, having previously tried to sign him mid-season.
He has been prolific goalscorer from midfield over the last two seasons. Prior to joining Belper he was with King`s Lynn and then Sheffield Wednesday where he occupied a regular place in the Owls` reserve side
Hawes joins from Hucknall and during the last season he has had trials with Motherwell, Dagenham & Redbridge, Port Vale and Bradford City and is widely viewed as a young player with a huge amount of potential.
Stevenson and Hawes joined the following retained players under contract for next season - John Danby, Matt Bailey, Russell Cooke, Anton Foster, John D`Laryea, Lindon Meikle and Sam Duncan.
Amongst the players moving on are Ed Eley, Laurence Gaughan, Craig McAughtrie, Ross Gardner, David Brown, Ian Holmes, Mark Smith and Ryan Whitehurst.
Cox commented on the current position of his squad: “I am very pleased with the players that we have retained, and feel comfortable that we have kept a strong nucleus which I believe are good enough to get us into a play-off position.
“I am delighted with the signings of both Lee and Adrian. These are two players that I have had my eye on for a considerable period of time now.
“I am still in discussions with a few of our other players from last season and also with numerous potential new signings. However, I have a budget to work within and I do want to keep some options open.”
