Young Striker to Remain With Wings
25 May 2010 09:33:00

Jamie Day, manager of Blue Square Bet South club Welling United, has confirmed that second top scorer Tom Whitnell has decided to stay with the Wings.

The young striker who scored fifteen goals in thirty-four appearances last season, will remain at Park View Road on a non-contract basis.

Whitnell was offered a reduced deal after a poor end to the season when he struggled after the departure of striker Andy Pugh, who was on loan from Gillingham.

It looked as though he would be leaving, but instead has opted to remain on non-contract terms.

Meanwhile, another forward, Loui Fazakerley, is also set to sign shortly.
