Barrow moved six points clear of the Blue Square Premier drop zone after a comprehensive 4-1 win at Holker Street against Crawley Town on Thursday night.
The Bluebirds opened the scoring in the 35th minute as Ben Smith put through his own goal after Jason Walker's shot had come back off the post.
But Smith redeemed himself 13 minutes after the break as he headed home Danny Forrest's cross from six yards.
Parity lasted for just 4 minutes, however, as Simon Wiles fired Barrow back into the lead from the edge of the area.
Wiles was then involved again 11 minutes from time as his corner was met by Nick Chadwick, who converted from close range.
Three minutes from time Walker fired home number four from the edge of the area to complete a good night for the FA Trophy finalists.
In the other game played on Thursday night, Scott Fitzgerald was sent-off after bagging a brace as Hayes & Yeading United twice let slip a lead to draw at Church Road against Kidderminster Harriers.
Fitzgerald's close-range effort put the home side one up 5 minutes before the break, only for Chris McPhee to level on 56 minutes.
Fitzgerald then volleyed home from the edge of the box on 71 minutes before being dismissed 7 minutes later after a tangle with Luke Prosser.
Three minutes on, Martin Riley headed Harriers level against the ten-men.
Hayes drop a place, thanks to Barrow's win, but the point was enough to lift them six points above the drop zone with four games remaining.
