Blue Square North club Stafford Rangers have signed defender Grant Goodhead from Zamaretto League Premier Division club Hednesford Town.
A highly-rated 24-year-old defender, Goodhead returned to Keys Park from Market Drayton Town in October 2009
A local lad who came through the Hednesford youth scheme, he failed to make a first-team appearance whilst at Keys Park first time around, and joined local side Heath Hayes in search of first-team football in 2005
After leaving Heath Hayes, he moved to Goodrich, before a spell at Cradley Town, where he captained the side until Simon Line saw his potential and signed him for his ambitious Market Drayton Town side in the summer of 2007.
He became a fixture in the side during the next two seasons, and was a dominant figure in the Market Drayton side that clinched the League and Cup double at the end of the 2008/09 season. For his efforts, he was voted the committee's player of the year
After a superb start to life at UniBond Division One South level, in October 2009 Line moved to Hednesford, making Goodhead his first signing as the Pitmen's new manager, thus bringing the young defender 'home'.
