Andy Gurney, manager of Blue Square South club Weston-super-Mare, has signed former Newport County striker Jermaine Clarke.
Clarke has recently been playing for Zamaretto League Premier Division side Evesham United on non-contract terms, and he goes straight into the squad against Bath City on Boxing Day.
The well-travelled Clarke, who works as a personal trainer in Solihull, attended the Aston Villa School of Excellence before starting a scholarship at Walsall.
He then played in local football before joining Evesham United and heading the goal that won them promotion to the Premier Division of the Southern League.
Spells at Redditch United and Halesowen Town on loan followed before he joined Bromsgrove Rovers and scored the goal that won them promotion in 2007.
He has since had spells with the likes of Newport County, Rushall Olympic, Romulus and Evesham again.
The Weston boss is also hoping to complete the capture of at least one other player in time for the game.
