Moors Add Duo
03 October 2009 10:43:00

Blue Square North club Solihull Moors have registered Darren Campion and Jamie Atkins ahead of the weekend`s action.

Defender Campion, 20, started his career as a youth team player at Birmingham City before being released in 2007 following City's return to the Premier League.

Campion (pictured) had trials with Shrewsbury Town and Hereford United, but failed to earn a contract with the Coca-Cola League Two clubs.

He then had a trail with League One outfit Carlisle United, where unlike with his two previous trails, impressed manager Greg Abbott enough for him to sign the defender on a short-term contract until December 2007.

Campion impressed enough to earn a contract until the end of the 2007/08 season and he made his Carlisle début on April 26th, 2008 at Millwall as a second half substitute. He was released from his contract by Abbott in January 2009.

Former Kidderminster Harriers` youth keeper Atkins, now 21, moves to Damson Park from Midland Combination outfit Cadbury Athletic.
