City Defer Planning Application

Following the report of the Head of Urban Environment to the Worcester City Council Planning Committee concerning the planning application for St George's Lane, Blue Square South club Worcester City FC and Careys met last Monday to consider the way f

They have resolved to defer the current planning application in order to promote an acceptable revision of the application to meet the concerns of the planning officers. Worcester City Council have agreed to this deferral.

Both parties remain committed to the deal whereby Careys New Homes purchases St Georges Lane for residential development.

Jim Panter for Worcester City said: “We continue to be comfortable with Careys, who played a significant part in the construction of Wembley Stadium and are at present carrying out a number of projects at the Olympic Complex in East London. We expect them to work through the detailed requirements in a sensitive fashion and develop the optimal solution for both themselves, Worcester City and of course the people of Worcester.”

Worcester City FC continue to pursue their plans to build a new stadium at Nunnery Way in conjunction with St Modwen.
