Grays Athletic have released recent signing Fred Murray, who has signed for new Blue Square Premier rivals Luton Town on a six-month loan with a view to signing a premanent deal.
Born in Clonmel, Republic of Ireland, Murray began his career at Blackburn Rovers before making his Football League debut on loan at Cambridge United.
His move to Cambridge became a permanent one in March 2002 and he made a total of eighty-eight League appearances for the Abbey Stadium club.
He moved to Northampton in summer 2004 but his progress was hampered by injury and illness. He made thirty-eight appearances for the Cobblers prior to his released in May 2007, joining Stafford Rangers a couple of months later.
He then signed for Stevenage Borough in the January 2008 transfer window, and after his release from Broadhall Way he teamed-up with Exeter City on a short-term contract.
He left the Devon outfit in May 2009 after his contract expired and he signed for Grays along with a whole host of others just ahead of the 2009/10 season.
