Bass Calls It a Day

Salisbury City`s experienced defender Jon Bass has announced that he is retiring from the game after a fifteen-year career.
Bass, 32, joined Salisbury in 2006 from Bristol Rovers and has also appeared for Birmingham City and Hartlepool.
By the end of last season he was the Whites' only part-time player and could not commit to a full-time contract.
"I was just ready to go into other things. It had been quite a tough season physically and mentally last year," said Bass. "We've got a family building business and that really requires my full time effort now as opposed to travelling around the country."
