Blue Square Bet North new boys Guiseley have brought in utility player Danny Boshell and midfielder Matty James ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend.
Boshell started his career with Oldham Athletic and spent six years at Boundary Park before finally leaving the club in 2005 after a loan spell at Bury, having turned out seventy times in the league for the Latics, scoring twice.
He signed for Stockport County and played thirty-three times in the league, scoring once before being released at the end of the 2005/06 season.
He signed for Grimsby Town a couple of games into the following season after having a pre-season trial.
He spent four years at Blundell Park, making ninety-nine appearances and netting eleven goals before the Mariners terminated his contract in February 2010.
Shortly after being released by Grimsby, Boshell signed for Chesterfield until the end of the season.
After appearing nine times for the club in the closing stages of the 2009/10 season, Boshell was released at the end of the season.
James is well-known in the area for his spells with the likes of Bradford Park Avenue, Harrogate Railway and Garforth Town.
Meanwhile, Guiseley have confirmed the departure of assistant-manager Phil Thompson.
Manager Steve Kittrick said: “I would like to clarify the recent departure of my assistant Phil Thompson.
“I felt it best to let the dust settle before releasing a statement. Unfortunately differences of opinion on aspects of team matters led Phil to tender his resignation.
“I would like to thank Phil for all his hard work and commitment and wish him all the best for the future.”
