Blue Square North club Blyth Spartans have announced the signing of former Newcastle United winger James Marwood and Jarrow Roofing striker Michael Hepplewhite.
Marwood, 19, is the son of former Arsenal and Sheffield Wednesday winger Brian and is a fast wide player who provides of good crosses and is capable of shooting from distance.
He was a member of the Newcastle side that defeated Blyth in the Northumberland Senior Cup at St James’ Park.
Hepplewhite (pictured), also 19, has played for Jarrow Roofing in the skilltrainingltd Northern League this season where he has scored six goals in the league, and is part of manager Mick Tait’s Gateshead College side where he is the leading scorer. He has also played for Birtley Town.
Both will be available for selection for Saturday’s FA Trophy fixture with Stafford Rangers.
