Blue Square have announced their prices for the opening round of Blue Square BET Premier matches in the 2010/11 season.
The online betting company and Football Conference sponsors make Luton Town their strong favourites for the title and promotion after they finished as runners-up in May.
The Hatters open their campaign at home to Altrincham and are the strong odds-on favourites at 1/2 to get off to a winning start in that match.
Richard Money’s side are now 13/8 with the sponsors to win the title after punters backed them from all rates from 3/1 downwards.
Blue Square spokesman Alan Alger said: “All the early money was for Luton Town and we had to take evasive action a number of times, they will cost us well into six-figures if they go on to take the title.”
Another team that have been backed are Crawley Town who have taken the eye at big prices each-way since announcing some key signings, including last season’s leading scorer Matt Tubbs.
Alger added: “Crawley have been all the rage since signing Tubbs and we have had to cut them more than halve their original price from 28/1 to 11/1 due to sustained each-way support for Steve Evans’ team.”
The Sussex outfit start with a home game against Grimsby Town who were relegated from League Two.
Crawley are the 5/4 slight favourites to win that match on the opening weekend.
Newly-promoted Newport County who took the Blue Square South by storm last season have a tricky away game at Darlington to contend with.
The relegated side have just appointed former Kettering Town manager Mark Cooper as manager and are Evens favourites to beat the Welsh side.
