Blue Square Premier leaders Oxford United maintained their five-point advantage at the top of the table after beating Ebbsfleet United 4-2 at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.
The hosts were 2-0 up inside 9 minutes, with Alfie Potter firing in low after cutting in from the right and James Constable finishing from a tight angle.
Magno Viera's close-range finish got Ebbsfleet back in it after 57 minutes, but Potter's chip restored Oxford's advantage just past the hour-mark.
Constable tapped in after Potter's shot was saved on 68 minutes before Scott Ginty's curled shot completed the scoring a couple of minutes from time.
Stevenage Borough maintained their pursuit of Oxford as they retained their unbeaten home league record at Broadhall Way against Kidderminster Harriers.
But Harriers complained about the validity of both Boro goals as their winless run stretched to four games.
Jon Ashton back-headed Stevenage ahead from Ronnie Henry's disputed free kick 8 minutes before the break.
And Mitchell Cole's second from Darren Murphy's knockdown straight after the interval was scored after big visiting shouts for offside.
As for the aggrieved Harriers, it was the third successive game in which they have failed to score since the sale of top scorer Matt Barnes-Homer to Luton Town.
York City survived a late Wrexham fightback to claim a club record-equalling eighth successive win.
On-loan Chris Carruthers gave the hosts the perfect start after 6 minutes with a free far-post header from Michael Rankine's cross.
Wrexham rallied after the break, Gareth Taylor having a header cleared off the line, while Wes Baynes' long-range strike was saved by Michael Ingham.
But Richard Brodie doubled York's lead with his twentieth of the season 9 minutes from time, followed by Andy Fleming's consolation.
And, despite Dean Saunders' men piling on late pressure, York did enough to hold out, to maintain third place in the table.
Stuart Robinson saved a Rob Duffy penalty to earn struggling Grays Athletic a useful point against promotion contenders Mansfield Town at Field Mill.
The home side had the better of a physical first half in which four Grays` players received yellow cards.
Duffy should have put the Stags ahead 10 minutes after the break but his spot-kick was saved by Robinson.
Oliver Hotchkiss and Lee Morris had shots on target before the end but both were denied by the Grays keeper.
Salisbury City came back from a goal behind to beat promotion contenders Kettering Town at the Elgoods Brewery Arena.
The Poppies, perhaps understandably with other things on their mind, took a 19th minute lead when substitute Anthony Elding powered home a penalty following a handball by Stuart Anderson.
Salisbury then levelled on 36 minutes through a close-range Matty Tubbs header.
Tubbs then turned provider for Anderson to lash home what proved to be the winner for Salisbury from the edge of the area 3 minutes into the second half.
AFC Wimbledon scored a goal in each half against Gateshead at Kingsmeadow to move two points behind the Poppies in the play-off places.
Steve Gregory put the home side ahead after 22 minutes with a stunning strike from outside the area.
The Dons` lead was stretched on the hour-mark through Ricky Wellard, and although Gateshead substitute Graham Armstrong almost scored a late consolation, the Tynesiders never looked like threatening the outcome.
Luton Town failed to break down the resistance of a spirited ten-man Chester City side with a disappointing goalless draw at the Deva Stadium.
In a game of very few chances the hosts were reduced to ten-men 3 minutes before the break when right-back Kevin Roberts was red-carded for hauling back Barnes-Homer.
The Hatters only came close occasionally in the second period as they pressed for a winner with Barnes-Homer and substitute Ashley Cain the main threats.
Alan White headed a great opportunity over the bar on 69 minute following Barnes-Homer's right-wing cross but that was the best of the chances at the Hatters continued to struggle to break the deadlock.
Rushden & Diamonds suffered an afternoon of frustration as they lost at Forest Green Rovers for the second season running.
Diamonds dominated the first half and should have had the game wrapped up by half time.
Paul Terry was denied in the 7th minute by Rovers` keeper Terry Burton, who also blocked Lee Tomlin's follow-up.
Tomlin and Terry combined again soon af ter for the latter to flick a header wide before Jefferson Louis lofted just over on 21 minutes after dispossessing his man.
The big striker was out of luck again on the half-hour as Burton again saved Rovers with a fine block.
Tomlin then had a decent penalty shout turned down on 39 minutes following a Joe O'Cearuill challenge as Diamonds continued to press without reward.
Rovers offered little in attack, save for a long-range Craig Rocastle effort late in the half that Dale Roberts easily dealt with.
The second half continued in the same vein with Burton saving from Terry and O'Connor before Tomi Ameobi at last forced a decent save from Roberts for the hosts.
Then, inevitably, after all Diamonds' pressure, Forest Green took the lead on 65 minutes when Ameobi's shot was nodded in on the line by Mark Preece.
Cambridge United twice fought back from behind to draw with Eastbourne Borough in an entertaining encounter at Priory Lane.
The hosts took a 15th minute lead through a Paul Armstrong header only for the U's to draw level 8 minutes later, thanks to an own goal from Ben Austin.
Eastbourne took just a minute to get back in front, Liam Enver-Marum with the header from inside the box.
Cambridge drew level at the start of the second half through a Brian Saah header from a Robbie Willmott corner.
Histon and Altrincham battled hard but played out a disappointing goalless mid-table draw at Bridge Road.
The only moment of quality in a scruffy first half came from the visitors, thanks to a Matt Doughty cross headed over by John McAliskey.
Alty again had the better second half chances, Chris Senior going close, denied by Matt Langston's block.
And home keeper Danny Naisbitt continued to thwart the visitors by saving Senior's shot.
Crawley Town bounced back from successive defeats to beat Tamworth at The Lamb, courtesy of Lewis Killeen's first half goal.
Killeen finished from close range after 14 minutes after being picked out by a Michael Malcolm pass.
Tamworth piled on the pressure, with Neil MacKenzie seeing his free kick saved by Simon Rayner and Jake Sheridan shooting wide from 20 yards.
Chris Smith headed wide and Brad Pritchard had an effort blocked, but the visitors held on.
Barrow were held 1-1 by Hayes & Yeading United at Holker Street in front of a crowd of 1,164.
With Tuesday's massive FA Cup replay on the horizon, Barrow looked to be heading for all three points after Jason Walker fired his side in front from eighteen yards, 7 minutes after the break.
The Bluebirds were well on top for a spell but squandered the chances and the visitors were rewarded for going four up front when James Esmond got the end of a long ball to equalise 9 minutes from time.
