A Trio of New Badgers
18 September 2009 12:06:00

Blue Square North club Eastwood Town have brought in three experienced new signings ahead of the AFC Telford United home fixture on Saturday.

Danish goalkeeper Jan Budtz, 28, has joined following his release from Coca-Cola League One side Hartlepool United where the 6` 5” stopper made thirty-eight appearances.

Previous to that, Budtz was with Doncaster Rovers, where he made twenty-eight appearances following a move from Danish outfit FC Nordsjaelland.

Budtz (pictured) was loaned out at the end of last season to Oldham Athletic where he made three appearances for the League One side.

Centre Back Craig McAughtrie, 28, has been signed from uniBond League Premier Division side King`s Lynn.

The 6`5” defender was a key part of last season’s Blue Square North-winning Tamworth side where he made forty-two appearances but was unable to commit to the additional training required following Tamworth’s promotion to the Conference Premier. Previously, he played over 250 games for Stafford Rangers.

McAughtrie began his career with Sheffield United and made the switch to Carlisle United, where he made ten first-team appearances.

Defender Jimmy Turner, 25, has joined from AFC Telford United, where he was the longest-serving player, having joined the club in February 2006 from Tamworth.

Turner can play anywhere across the back four as well as in midfield, and he played at centre back five times for Telford this season.
