Steve Fallon, manager of Blue Square Premier club Histon, has followed up on his promise to bring in new faces to bolster his young squad and has pulled off what may yet prove to be the master stroke of the summer by snapping up 20-year-old striker B
The striker, who last year was making headlines with Hereford United and Ghana under-20’s and but for Histon’s FA Cup win over Leeds United he was set to join Gary McAllister’s team. But with McAllister’s departure from Leeds so Hudson-Odoi’s career stuttered.
Having played sixteen games for Hereford, scoring three goals including one against Leeds, the player appears to have been dealt some hard luck and finished the season on loan at Grays Athletic coming on at half time in Histon’s 4-1 demolition of the Essex side towards the end of the season.
Fallon spoke of his new signing: “John Beck went and watched Bradley last week after a recommendation from Sean Blom (the club's agent) when he was on trial at Dagenham & Redbridge and came back recommending we get the lad on board, so we have had a look at him this week and we very much like what we see.
“He can play wide right, wide left or upfront he has electric pace and loves taking people on so we are really looking forward to seeing him make his mark.
“Bradley is very focused on returning to the Football League having been at Fulham for ten years and Hereford whilst also playing at international level for Ghana he sees us as being a platform that can reignite his career and that suits us and the player.”
Hudson-Odoi has signed a contract until January 2010 - an agreement which seems to suit both parties.
Histon last signed a trial player in similar circumstances when Lanre Oyebanjo joined and that looks to have been one of the best signings the manager has made.
The player is expected to be included in the squad to travel to Gateshead on Saturday.
