Forest Green Rovers couldn't quite overcome the odds to set up an all-Nationwide Conference second round FA Cup tie with Carlisle, as Bournemouth proved too strong for Alan Lewer's men in the replay at The Fitness First Stadium.

With Rovers believing an upset could be on the cards after they had held The Cherries to a 1-1 draw in the first match, the pressure was on the League One side, but they settled any early nerves with a 10th minute goal from Alan Connell.

The home side largely dominated the game and their superiority was underlined in the 70th minute when John Spicer made it 2-0, slotting home from Garreth O'Connor's pass.

Forest Green were give some late hope by Des Lyttle's 88th-minute effort - a superb 25-yarder - but Dani Rodrigues sealed the victory for Bournemouth in the final minute, leaving Rovers to focus on pulling themselves out of the relegation zone in the Nationwide Conference.
