Cardiff Youngster Joins Newport County
03 September 2008
Blue Square South side Newport County have secured the services of Cardiff City's Erwin Sak on a month loan.
The 18 year old goalkeeper, originally from Poland, started his career with LSP Legion Lublin. At the age of 15 he moved to MSP Szamotuly Football Acadamy where he was nurtured by Andrzej Dawidziuk - the current Head Goalkeeping Coach in the Poland National Team.
During the 07/08 season, Sak went on a one week trial for Cardiff City and eventually signed for the club, making his debut as substitue in the FAW Premier Cup semi-final against Newport County.
Sak is now Cardiff City's 3rd choice keeper behind Tom Heaton and Peter Enckelman. He joins Newport County on a one month loan to cover the injured Glyn Thompson.
