Blue Square Bet Premier club Luton Town have offered
professional contracts to defenders Brett Longden and Jerome Jibodu.
Jibodu made his first-team debut against Skelmersdale
United in the FA Trophy, while Longden has been an unused sub in a number of
cup ties this season.
Head of youth Wayne Turner said: “They are both local
lads, and if there’s one thing I know which get your fans going it’s a
home-grown boy – here we have two.”
Town have announced that four of the under-18s have
been let go, with Jordan Davis, Jerry Nash, Nick Burtenshaw and Josh Carpenter
all being released.
Nash played twice for the senior side last season, and
Turner continued: “I’m not just saying this but all have been a real credit to
their families. They have worked really hard but just haven’t played
consistently well enough at the level that’s been required.”
