It`s still tight at the top of the Vanarama National League South table with Maidenhead United a point in front of Ebbsfleet United with both teams having eight games of the regular season remaining.

The Magpies enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 York Road win over lowly Welling United without really getting out of first gear.

The damage was done in the first 45 minutes with all goals from Dean Inman after 24 minutes, top scorer Dave Tarpey 4 minutes later and James Mulley right on the whistle.

The Wings failed to trouble the hosts or the scorers in the second half.

Fleet maintained their unbeaten run this year with a late comeback win at Stonebridge Road against the team immediately below Welling in the table, Weston-super-Mare.

But it was the Seasiders who broke the deadlock in front of 1,325 when Dayle Grubb scored 8 minutes into the second half.

But Danny Kedwell, making his 100th appearance for the club, equalised 12 minutes from time and Darren McQueen won if for Fleet 3 minutes later.

Dartford are third, but eight points behind their Kent rivals.

The Darts won 5-3 at Princes Park against fourth-bottom Truro City, who led through Rocky Neal`s 13th minute effort.

Andy Pugh equalised on the half-hour mark and then skipper Elliot Brabrook gave the home side the lead in the 41st minute.

A second header for Neal restored parity in the 65th minute, only for Luke Wanadio to restore the Darts lead 3 minutes later.

Jamie Richards gave the White Tigers hope of a point, but the Darts hit five against the Cornishmen for the second time this season when Pugh netted his second on 86 minutes and sub Tom Murphy made it a nap hand in stoppage time.

Fourth-placed Chelmsford City and fifth-placed Poole Town, however, were both held to draws, allowing Hungerford Town to move into sixth, three points adrift of the top five.

Chelmsford led inside 3 minutes at Grosvenor Vale against Wealdstone with a goal from recent signing Louie Theophanous.

But a 68th minute penalty converted by Joe White salvaged a point for the Stones.

And at Tatnam, Poole were pegged back by another top five contender, Hampton & Richmond Borough, after leading 2-0 with goals from Abdulai Baggie after 5 minutes and Luke Roberts on 36 minutes.

The Beavers overturned that in the second half to lead 3-2, courtesy of Brendan Kiernan after 67 minutes, Duncan Culley 8 minutes later and Kieran Murphy 4 minutes after that.

But Marvin Brookes rescued the Dolphins with an 83rd minute leveller.

Hungerford are now sixth after increasing Concord Rangers` relegation worries with a 2-1 Bulpit Lane win.

But the Crusaders had to come back from being a 31st minute Amos Nasha goal down.

Jon Boardman equalised 8 minutes after the break and Stefan Brown won it for the home side 7 minutes from time.

Ten-man Bath City are eighth, seven points behind Poole, after winning 2-1 at Priory Lane against mid-table Eastbourne Borough.

Shawn McCoulsky broke the deadlock to give Bath the lead 7 minutes after half-time.

A Shaun Hobson own goal doubled the Romans lead just past the hour-mark.

Ten minutes from time, George Rigg was sent-off after a foul on Reece Connolly when last man and he and his team were punished further when Miguel Baptista curled the resulting free-kick home around the wall.

But the ten-men held firm for the spoils.

Margate are thirteen points adrift of the safety-mark with games running out after losing 3-2 at Vauxhall Road against Hemel Hempstead Town.

Jake Robinson gave the Tudors a great start with a goal inside 2 minutes.

Charlie Sheringham gave Gate a mountain to climb when he added a second with only 13 minutes gone on the clock.

But Tarik Moore-Azille reduced the deficit 8 minutes before the break, only for Sheringham to notch his second of the game just past the hour-mark.

Mattius Famino pulled a second back for Gate with 16 minutes remaining, but they were unable to find an equaliser.

Bishop`s Stortford are just four points better off than Margate after losing a `six-pointer` at the Enclosed Ground to a Whitehawk side who are now fifth-bottom, five points clear of the drop zone.

The only goal came in the 68th minute when Paul Rodgers conceded a penalty that Glen Southam duly converted.

It`s now eight games without a win for St Albans City as they fell to a 4-0 defeat at Privett Park to third-bottom Gosport Borough.

Tony Lee put Gosport ahead as early as the 3rd minute.

But few could have guessed that Boro were about to end four months and seventeen matches without a league win in style with four excellent goals and a clean sheet achieved for the first time since September.

Joe Lea doubled Boro`s lead after 34 minutes and Lee added his second to make it 3-0 with 8 minutes of the first half remaining.

Ollie Bailey added the icing on the cake with a fourth in the 86th minute.

East Thurrock United beat Oxford City 2-1 at Rookery Hill.

The first half was a generally subdued affair with neither side looking overly likely to break the deadlock.

More lively after the break, it was the home side who scored first after Craig Hill lost the ball and Femi Akinwande shot into an empty net on 54 minutes.

The Rocks doubled their lead with 9 minutes to go through Scott Heard who fired in a right-wing cross.

City pulled one back almost immediately through Sami Khawaja but were unable to snatch a late draw.
