The 40-year-old former England under-21 international was recently with
Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division side Chesham United, who sacked
manager Andy Leese earlier this week.
The vastly experienced centre-back re-joined Chesham in July 2016 from
Hayes & Yeading United.
He had first joined the Generals midway through the 2013/14 season, having
had a short spell at IFK Mariehamn in Finland.
He then moved onto Conference (National League) South football midway
through the 2014/15 season with Welling United and Staines Town.
Purse is a well-known figure having made 556 league appearances from 1996
He is best known for his spells at Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion
and Cardiff City, and commanded transfer fees of around £2.5m across his
