Blue Square Bet Premier club Grimsby Town have completed a double swoop, adding midfielder Robert Eagle and Dwayne Samuels.
Eagle (pictured), a former Norwich City player, has joined the Mariners on a two-year deal and becomes Neil Woods’ twelfth summer acquisition.
Nineteen-year-old right-back Samuels impressed Woods in games against Lincoln City and Scunthorpe United, earning himself a permanent contract.
Woods said: "Dwayne has impressed us from the moment he’s walked in. His training and attitude to everything we’ve given him has been superb.
"It’s not just purely about the ability on the football pitch, although mainly. They also have to be the right kind of character, they have to want to learn, be prepared to work hard, and they have to fit in.
"Dwayne is like what you see on the pitch – he’s a bundle of energy, he’s bright as a button every day and he just loves his football.
Eagle made his first-team debut in September 2006 when he started Norwich's Carling Cup tie with Rotherham United.
He went on to make ten League appearances before the end of the 2006/07 season.
The 23-year-old has recently been on trial with the Mariners and impressed with his delivery from the left wing and at set pieces.
Woods added: “Robert has done well for us and we were very keen to have him on board."
