Robbie Garvey, manager of Blue Square South club Braintree Town, has added two players to his squad, with a possible third addition pending clearance from the Football Conference.
Joining the club from West Ham United is midfielder Daniel Emmanuel, who is 18 in November and impressed in last Saturday's friendly match with Billericay Town.
Also, as expected, joining the club from near-neighbours and league rivals Bishop's Stortford is 24-year old Paul Goodacre (pictured).
A central defender who started his career at Maldon Town before switching to Stortford in the summer 2006, Goodacre has also played for Burnham Ramblers and had trials with Southend United.
He was appointed captain at Woodside Park in July 2007 and was a pivotal part of the Bishop's Stortford side that made the Blue Square South play-offs in 2007.
Garvey was delighted with his latest signings: "I liked what I saw in Daniel last Saturday and have invited him to join the squad. Paul is a big signing for us. When I heard he was available I moved quickly to bring him to the club."
Goodacre was equally pleased to be joining the Iron: "I enjoyed my time at Stortford but am now looking forward to the new challenge at Braintree. The lads have been really friendly and I'm already looking forward to Saturday's match with Staines."
