The Football Conference has issued the following official statement regarding Blue Square North club Farsley Celtic....
The Administrator of Farsley Celtic Football Club Limited has verbally confirmed to the Board of the Football Conference, following the withdrawal of a potential purchaser of the club it has not been possible to complete a sale.
There being insufficient funds coming into the club, the Throstle’s Nest Ground has been closed.
Farsley Celtic’s fixture against Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday, 5th September 2009 has been postponed.
The longer-term future of the club will be considered by the Conference Board when more detailed information is received from the Administrator.
