FA TROPHY: THIRD ROUND DRAW

The draw for the third round of the FA Trophy has been made. Nationwide Conference sides enter the competition at this stage, and 10 have been paired together: Accrington v Hereford, Barnet v Farnborough, Burton v York, Halifax v Northwich, and Woking v Stevenage.

Holders Hednesford Town, of the Southern League, begin their defence of the trophy at home to Nationwide North outfit Worcester City, while last season's beaten finalists Canvey Island also face Southern League opponents as they travel to Bath City.

There are three all-Nationwide North ties: Kettering v Alfreton, Southport v Hucknall, Vauxhall Motors v Lancaster; and two fixtures pitting two Nationwide South teams against each other: Redbridge v Cambridge City or Hornchurch, Sutton United v Grays Athletic.

Third round matches are scheduled for the weekend beginning Saturday 15th January 2005, with any replays to be played by Thursday 20th January. Winners of the 32 third round ties, will each receive £4,000 from the FA's prize fund.
