Grays Athletic 4 - 1 Exeter City

If Grays Athletic's meeting with Exeter City in the FA Trophy was a test of their Nationwide Conference credentials, the Essex side passed in style as they swept the Grecians aside at the Recreation Ground.

The runaway Nationwide South leaders are almost guaranteed a place in the Conference top division next season and on the evidence of this performance they'll be challenging for promotion to the Football League in another year.

Manager Mark Stimson (pictured) was confident his side could cause an upset against the Nationwide Conference play-off hopefuls, who only two months ago were themselves celebrating a shock result having held Manchester United to a goalless draw in the third round of the FA Cup. His faith was not misplaced as Grays booked their place in the semi finals with an assured display that earned them a 4-1 win over Exeter.

Gary Hooper and Dennis Oli scored two goals apiece, with Hooper netting the first in the 22nd minute and Oli adding the second three minutes later. He notched again 11 minutes after the break and Hooper finished things off with Grays' fourth in the last minute, shortly after a consolation from Exeter's Gareth Sheldon.

Burton Albion 1 - 0 Woking

With too much to do to make the play-offs, and with little chance of being dragged into a relegation battle, the FA Trophy is all Burton Albion realistically have left to play for this season. Woking on the other hand are on an excellent run in the Nationwide Conference and have definite promotion ambitions, as well as a good chance of going all the way in the GLS Cup.

Nevertheless, there was little to choose between them as the Brewers edged past the Cards thanks to Dale Anderson's 72nd-minute goal, which sent the home side into the semi finals as the only confirmed Nationwide Conference representative so far.

Bishop's Stortford 1 - 1 Gravesend & Northfleet

Bishop's Stortford couldn't quite emulate their Nationwide South rivals Grays by putting out Nationwide Conference opposition at the first attempt, but they'll get another bite of the cherry thanks to Dave Rainford's last-minute equaliser against the Fleet.

Things seemed to be going to plan for the visitors after 17 minutes, when Manny Omoyinmi put them in front. But Justin Skinner's dismissal just two minutes later meant they were always going to have work hard to hang on, which they were ultimately unable to do.

Hereford 2-2 Hucknall Town

Visiting Nationwide North side Hucknall twice came from behind to force a replay against the Bulls, who made the perfect start at Edgar Street - taking the lead in the 3rd minute through Craig Stanley. Mark Smith levelled for the underdogs but Hereford went ahead again just before the break, thanks to Mark Robinson.

The home side might have felt that blow would end the resistance of their plucky opponents, but Smith pulled equalised again just before the hour and the two sides will meet again to battle for a place in the last four.
