CONFERENCE: Bailey transfer fee decided
After three postponements, the FA Tribunal to decide the transfer fee for Nicky Bailey from Sutton United to Barnet took place on Wednesday 13th October.
Chairman Bruce Elliott represented Sutton United, and after a very fair and impartial hearing by a three-man commission, the following ruling was made, which is binding on both clubs:
- a sum of 3,000 to be paid upfront
- appearance bonuses to be paid in instalments subject to games played, that potentially total &163;5,000 after 50 games.
In addition, Barnet will pay a further 2,000 if they win promotion to the Football League and Bailey plays in at least 50% of the league games during that season
Finally, if Barnet sell Bailey for more than the total fee paid to Sutton at that time, Sutton will receive 25% of the excess of that transfer fee.
