AWARDS: STANSFIELD IS NATIONWIDE CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Hereford United's Adam Stansfield is the Nationwide Conference Player of the Month for September - an award voted on by fans of the competition.

Stansfield, a 26-year old forward who signed for the Bulls in the summer from Yeovil Town, found the net on three occasions from five appearances - which includes one appearance from the bench.

Darren Lynch of Kettering Town picks up the Nationwide North Player of the Month Award and Grays Athletic's Freddy Eastwood wins the Nationwide South gong.

Nationwide's Chris Hull said of Stansfield's superb play in September: "Adam has been particularly sharp in front of goal and the former Yeovil man gets into lots of good areas inside the penalty area. He is a very mobile striker and is an old fashioned poacher of goals. His month included a brace in the 4-3 victory at Leigh RMI when he came off the bench to win it for the Bulls."

As for Darren Lynch's efforts, Hull commented: "Following a string of excellent performances in Kettering's forward line, Darren picks up the award in Nationwide North. He is the club's top goalscorer and has found the back of the net five times in six games in September. He is a hard working, heart on your sleeve type player and is a real crowd favourite at Rockingham Road."

Freddy Eastwood's achievements also gained praise from Hull, who added: "The Nationwide South Player of the Month belongs to Freddy who has impressed everyone at Grays with his very quick and clever feet. He is a young striker who is capturing the interest of many clubs in the top four divisions in the country following his 37 goals last season and his start to this campaign. Freddy is currently enjoying a four-week trial at Southend United."

As for the popularity of the Nationwide Player of the Month awards, voted for by fans right here on the official Football Conference website, Hull enthused: "Once again, 4,000 supporters of Nationwide Conference football voted for the prestigious Nationwide Player of the Month Awards.
