Turner takes Nationwide Conference Manager of the Month award

Hereford United boss Graham Turner is the Nationwide Conference Manager of the Month for September.

Turner guided his charges to 12 points from a possible 15 during the month and the Bulls are now within one point of leaders Barnet.

The former Aston Villa and Wolves manager, who is also the owner and Chairman of the Edgar Street outfit, pipped Exeter City, Barnet, Carlisle United and Burton to the accolade.

Nationwide's Chris Hull commented: "The panel was particularly impressed with the way that Graham and everyone at Edgar Street have responded so positively after last season's play-offs.

"Four wins from five have helped to push Hereford to within touching distance of Barnet who have also been outstanding in both August and September.

"Graham's many roles at the club give him a unique position within English football and he is one of the most respected individuals throughout the game."

Heathcote named as Nationwide North winner

Altrincham manager Graham Heathcote takes the Nationwide North award following a splendid month for the Cheshire side.

Heathcote has seen the Robins win four and draw one of their six Nationwide North fixtures and have climbed to third place in the table.

Chris Hull revealed: "In the Nationwide North, the panel was extremely impressed with the 13 points that Graham and his players have achieved at Moss Lane.

"Graham's personal history with the club spans almost 35 years as he also played for the club as a teenager.

"He celebrates his second anniversary as the manager of Altrincham this month so the award comes at an appropriate juncture."

Hill earns accolade for Urchins' unbeaten run

In the Nationwide South, Garry Hill of Hornchurch is the Manager of the Month following a phenomenal series of results for the Essex club.

The former Dagenham and Redbridge boss has seen the Urchins take 19 points from 21 available in September and they currently sit at the top of the Nationwide South table.

Nationwide's Chris Hull admitted: "The Nationwide South accolade was the most clear cut of all the awards after Garry steered Hornchurch to an extremely impressive six wins and a draw from their seven fixtures.

"We are very aware of Garry's contribution to football at this level and his new Hornchurch side have excelled during September."
