GLS CUP: Sucess for Shots, Stevenage and Stanley
Stevenage Borough and Accrington Stanley both booked their places in the fifth round of the GLS Cup on Tuesday night, while Aldershot beat Conference rivals Exeter City to earn a trip to Forest Green Rovers in the fourth round next week.
An incredibly close game at Stevenage saw the the home side edge out the Nationwide South's runaway leaders Grays Athletic in a penalty shoot-out, following a goalless first 90 minutes and a goal apiece in extra time.
Accrington's progress into the next round of the Northern section was considerably more comfortable as they thrashed Tamworth 5-0, with two goals each from Lee McEvilly and Rory Prendergast, and one from Paul Mulliin.
Aldershot beat Exeter 1-0 to set up their trip to The Lawn, and the winners of that tie will face either Woking or Havant & Waterlooville in the fifth round.
