RMI to Receive £400,000 at the York game on Saturday 29th January
Leigh RMI club officials are to receive a cheque for &400,000 at the York game from the largest funder of non-league football in the country and supporters of the Football Foundation, the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF).
The grant will go toward the development cost of the a new purpose built stadium, which will become the centrepiece of a major community sports complex 'the Leigh Sports Village.' The stadium will meet Football League standards.
Construction of the new 10,000 capacity stadium development in the Pennington area of the town is due to commence in the spring with the completion anticipated during 2007.
This welcome news will provide the focal point to the pre-match proceedings as RMI have designated this match as their Ladies Day, sponsored by the Nationwide Building Society. RMI are also inviting the local business community to join in the celebration by taking tables at the pre-match corporate luncheon.
