CONFERENCE: Busby to discuss future with York City board

York City's board will hold talks with Viv Busby this week following the acting manager's offer to stand down following the Minstermen's FA Trophy exit at the weekend.

York, currently 18th in the Nationwide Conference and just two points above the relegation zone, were beaten 3-0 by their divisional rivals Burton Albion on Saturday, in the third round of the FA Trophy.

Busby, who has been in caretaker charge of the team since Chris Brass's sacking on November 8th, said after the defeat he would stand down if the board felt they needed to bring in a "fresh face" to turn things round.

The club's director of communications Sophie McGill told BBC Sport: "We are aware of that and have spoken to Viv and will be discussing it. It's business as normal at York City at present."

McGill added: "Viv is feeling very frustrated with the situation and feels he is not getting what he wants from certain players. We will be discussing the whole issue when we meet up."

York have won twice under Busby, having drawn two and lost four of the eight games he has overseen.
