CONFERENCE: Full Steam Ahead for Farnborough

Official Press Release from Farnborough Town FC

It is with great pleasure that we can announce that the issues which were hindering the development and progress of Farnborough Town Football Club have now been resolved and the Board of Directors are now looking forward to moving the club to new levels.

Following a marathon seven hour meeting at the club on Tuesday 16th November all the issues have now been resolved and at last it can quite honestly be said that there is unity, togetherness and above all trust within the boardroom.

Tony Theo has stated: 'I honestly believe that the club is now in the best possible position for years'. 'Following our very, long, honest, and frank meeting on Tuesday all of the outstanding issues have been resolved and a clear and defined structure is in place'.

Ron Higgins will predominantly deal with all the major financial and legal issues at the football club and has already spent a great deal of time, effort and his personal money on resolving the issues with the Inland Revenue, trade creditors and the historic problems which have blighted the club for such a long time.

Tony Turburville will work on other areas of the business plan helping to develop facilities, structures and new revenue streams for the club.

Tony Theo will have a more hands-on role at the club and will oversee and manage all aspects of the day-to-day running as well as communicating with the press and supporters.

The past two months have seen some unfortunate issues arise with players' wages and creditors payments, which have now been resolved, and procedures have been put in place to ensure that these mistakes will not arise again.

Manager Dean Austin signed a new contract with the club on Thursday, which shows his commitment to the club and emphasises that the club values him and the tremendous work that he is doing.

The youth team are progressing very well on every front with the potential of an away tie against Liverpool in the FA Youth Cup the prize if they overcome Wealdstone FC at home in the next round, which will be played on Wednesday 24th November with a 7:45 kick off at Cherrywood Road.

Our next home fixture is Saturday 20th November 2004 (tomorrow) at home to Northwich Victoria FC, which should be a highly entertaining and competitive match.

Fans, please support Farnborough Town Football Club and our future by attending this match and ensuring that with the new positive developments off the pitch we can have a bumper crowd supporting the players on the pitch.

For the love of the game...
