CONFERENCE: Shots midfielder Miller makes QPR move
Aldershot Town Football Club Chairman Karl Prentice has confirmed that the club has been in negotiations with Coca Cola Championship side Queens Park Rangers regarding a transfer of Shots midfielder Adam Miller.
Mr Prentice said: "I spoke to QPR Manager Ian Holloway on Thursday evening with a view to allowing Adam Miller to join QPR. I consequently spoke to the their Chief Executive this morning and we have negotiated a package that is beneficial to both clubs."
With plenty of speculation mounting during Friday morning, Mr Prentice added: "I know that the word is out and there has been debate about the Adam Miller situation but I can categorically state that Adam is still to have a medical and the paperwork is not likely to be completed until Monday morning. It has also been quoted that we are to receive a 'Nominal Fee' for the deal. As far as we are concerned it is not a nominal fee to Aldershot Town. It will remain undisclosed but it is by far the best deal in our twelve year history.
"There are also added benefits which will be relevant to Adam's progress and QPR will also visit the Recreation Ground for a pre-season friendly for the next two seasons where we will retain the whole gate.
"Adam will go with our best wishes and we thank him for the excellent service he has given Aldershot Town Football Club over the past year."
Adam Miller joined the Shots from Gravesend & Northfleet in October 2003 and has scored 12 goals in 53 appearances in an Aldershot Town shirt. The 22-year-old was also voted the 'Non-League Paper' Young Player of the Season in 2003/04.
Mr Prentice also confirmed that Aldershot Town manager Terry Brown is finalising a deal to add another player to the Recreation Ground ranks by the end of the day.
