CONFERENCE: TUESDAY NIGHT ROUND-UP

Veteran Taylor shows the way
Tamworth headed north to record their only away win of the season so far at Accrington Stanley. 'Super' Bob Taylor opened the scoring for the visitors only for Paul Mullin to pull a goal back after 33 minutes. Strikes from Shaun Harrad and Marvin Brown should have sewn the game up for the midlanders, but Jonathan Smith's goal after 63 minutes made for a tense last few minutes.

Aldershot leave it late
10-man Gravesend held out until the fourth minute of stoppage time before conceding a goal to Aldershot in the top of the table clash at the Recreation Ground.

Tim Sills powered home a header from Darren Barnard's free kick, Fleet were reduced after Jay Saunders' 52nd minute red card for a professional foul on Aaron McLean.

Comfortable for Crawley
Crawley Town moved up to seventh in the table after easing to victory over struggling Farnworth.

Dan Marney netted the first after 23 minutes after a fine cross from Adrian Deane. Deane himself made the points safe with a superb drive just after half-time maintaining Crawley's unbeaten home record.

Hereford come a cropper
Dagenham and Redbridge came back from a goal down to beat high-fliers Hereford United. Lee Mills had put the Bulls ahead just after the break.

Then Craig Mackail-Smith struck twice, either side of Chris Moore's left footed drive to ensure the Daggers bagged the three points.

Barnet storm Exeter
Barnet remained top of the table following a 3-0 victory over Exeter.

The Bees came to life in the second half when Dwane Lee headed home to break the deadlock after 63 minutes. Then two goals in a minute wrapped up the victory. Richard Graham struck first before Dean Sinclair drilled home the third nail in Exeter's coffin.

Sean Canham should have bagged a goal for The Grecians on half time; he could have done better with a mis-hit shot from the edge of the box.

It was City boss Eamonn Dolan's last game in charge before leaving to take charge of Reading's Youth Academy.

Six in a row for Carlisle
Carlisle secured a 6-1 victory over Leigh RMI to keep the pressure on leaders Barnet. Brendan McGill opened the scoring after 12 minutes, shooting the ball into the top corner. It was all level at half time after Gareth Stoker scored the equaliser for Leigh after 34 minutes.

Carlisle were unstoppable in the second period, taking the lead with McGill's second on 48 minutes. Tim Cowan added a third, before Chris Billy struck with 12 minutes remaining to make it 4-1. Peter Murphy and Craig Farrell both scored in injury time to complete The Blues' second biggest victory of the season.

Morecambe outshine Minstermen on Sky
Morecambe secured a 2-1 victory over York City in the first of Sky Sports' three live televised Nationwide Conference games in six days, thanks to goals from Micael Twiss and substitute Gary Thompson.

Adam Sollitt put in a solid performance between the sticks, denying both Darren Dunning and Paul Groves equalisers.

At the other end, David Stockdale saved a penalty from Kieron Walmsley before Twiss turned provider to set up Thompson with three minutes to go. York pulled back a consolation goal in the dying moments when York substitute Levent Yalcin drilled in a shot.

Boro like home comforts
Northwich came unstuck against Scarborough as the Seasiders extended their unbeaten home record.

Northwich are still bottom of the table after falling behind to Neil Redfern's penalty after 37 minutes, following a foul on Kevin Townson by Mark Foran.

Boro completely took charge in the second half. Chris Senior then bagged two goals in as many minutes heading in David Pounder's cross and then adding his second from a Tony Hackworth cross.

Canvey can
Canvey Island secured a 4-1 victory over Stevenage Borough to help them creep away from the lower echelons of the Conference.

Ollie Berquez opened the scoring for Canvey after just four minutes. Lee Boylan made it 2-0 when he curled in a free-kick on 13 minutes.

Stevenage substitute Richie Hanlon arrived on the park and instantly pulled one back for Borough with his first touch, but it wasn't enough as Neil Gregory fired home from the spot on the hour and Neil Midgley added a fourth with 13 minutes to go.

Rovers get off the mark
Forest Green Rovers secured their first victory of the season after beating Woking 1-0.

The visitors dominated for long periods, and despite many chances, only managed to break the deadlock when Ben Cleverly was played in by Charlie Griffin for the only goal of the game just before the break.
