CONFERENCE: Crawley maintain unbeaten home run

Report from Crawley Town Press Office

Crawley Town 4 - Tait 8, MacDonald 33 (pen) & 55, Manuella 54
Forest Green Rovers 2 - Griffin 8 & 27

Crawley Town stretched their unbeaten home run in the Football Conference to five games on Saturday as they twice came from behind to beat Forest Green Rovers.

The visitors took the lead after just eight minutes but Crawley were quick to hit back through Allan Tait five minutes later. Rovers again went in front on 17 minutes before Charlie MacDonald scored from the penalty spot to level the match once more.

Crawley then took control of the game in the second half as two goals in two minutes, a 30-yard screamer from Fiston Manuella and MacDonald's fifth goal of the season led the Red Devils to a 4-2 win.

Crawley will look for a turn in fortunes away from the Broadfield Stadium on Saturday as they face the 350-mile trip to Carlisle United. Defeats at Accrington Stanley, Exeter City and Burton Albion, coupled with a draw at Canvey Island last week have left Crawley without an away win since the 2-1 success at Leigh RMI on the opening day of the season.
