SOUTH: PERFECT START FOR BASINGSTOKE
Basingstoke continued their excellent start to the season as they recorded a 1-0 win over Sutton United to maintain their 100% record and top the Nationwide South table.
Martin Whiddet's goal proved decisive at The Camrose as the home side kept their third straight clean sheet to further underline their credentials as potential Nationwide South title contenders.
Grays Athletic and Thurrock also kept things tight at the back as they beat Lewes (4-0 at home) and Maidenhead (3-0 away) respectively to maintain their unbeaten records, while Weston-super-Mare enjoyed a 2-1 win at Cambridge to stay in touch with the early challengers at the top.
Dorchester and Redbridge claimed their first victories of the season while Weymouth picked up their first point with a 2-2 draw at Bognor Regis. Eastbourne are now the only side not to have won a single point, following their 2-1 defeat by Redbridge.
